Yesterday the BCS footballers played their first match in the Development Cup, an international tournament for boys under 17. The opponent was the Uzbek national youth team, one of the strongest teams in the tournament. Our boys came to the game fully prepared and gave a real fight!

BCS starting line-up:

Goalkeeper: Francisco Fernandes Santiago da Costa
Defenders: João Gabriel Alves Pereira, Lucas Gabriel Soares Santos Gomes, Marlon Sousa Silva Oliveira, Pedro Henrique Gabriel Dias.
Midfielders: Daniel Silva Pereira Caetano Mariano, Kauã Miranda da Silva, Adrian Castro de Souza
Forwards: Gustavo Silva dos Santos, Rodrigo da Silva Sousa, Jamyson Ryan da Silva Oliveira

From the outset, our team were active and forward and created several dangerous chances. Their opponents were taken aback by the start and it was Gustavo Silva dos Santos who opened the scoring in the 12th minute, sending the ball into the far corner of the net.

After the goal, Uzbekistan took the initiative and began to control the ball more and get closer to our goal. Their efforts paid off in the 22nd minute when they scored to level the scores at 1-1, and the teams went into the break with that result.

In the second half, the BCS coaching staff made two substitutions: Everton Pereira Gonçalves and Felipe Lima de Souza came on. Early in the second half, however, defender Lucas Gabriel Soares Santos Gomes was injured and was replaced by Luiz Felipe Silva Pires Ortogalli.

Uzbekistan took the lead in the 48th minute - 2-1. Our players did not give up and continued to push forward, creating dangerous moments. Jamyson Ryan was particularly active, threatening their goal on several occasions.

It looked as if BCS were going to equalise, but in the 65th minute the referee awarded a controversial penalty on our goal. Uzbekistan converted the penalty to make the score 1-3. The final score was 1:3 in favour of Uzbekistan.

This is just the beginning of the tournament, and BCS have some big games ahead of them. Thanks to the boys for a good game and the support of the fans! 🔥
